When you are quoting someone, give full credit to that person's name.
Never say, "As a friend of mine said", "As a teacher of mine said", or "As a writer I know of said". What that means is:
--You are taking the credit for yourself.
--You are quoting but liberally paraphrasing
--You do not want people to know who the friend/teacher/writer is, for selfish reasons.
