I find Ellen's Game of Games interesting from a psychoanalytical point of view. Most of the games end up with people being pulled up, hung, dropped, squirted on, smeared, spun, and subjected to mechanisms that seem to represent giant penises or the giant arms of overwhelming parents. A very Freudian show, actually. Even the collective squeals of the audience come across to me as having a covertly sexual, sadomasochistic tone.
