Sometime in 2017 Sampaguita sent me two photos that she autographed on their backs. I considered having them double-glass framed and told her that she should have signed the photos on their fronts, Hollywood-star-style.
This afternoon a courier delivered these two photos to me. I can now have a Sampaguita wall, as I have a Bruce Lee altar.
The irony of all of this is, in the 1970s, when we were both young, Sampaguita would not even have considered me a likely friend.
I should have coffee with her and pass on to her a magical necklace and a magical ring.
