One of the corniest scenes I often see on TV is when two lovers are about to kiss, a phone rings, and one of them must take it. To me, a kiss is more important. A call can always wait.

There was a time when people had only landline phones. I had one too. Whenever it rang and I was in another room, doing something else, or didn't feel like picking up the phone, I just let it ring and ring until it stopped. I always wondered why other people I knew jumped up instantly and dropped everything just to answer a phone.

We should not be slaves to technology. Technology should be a slave to us.
